Business Connect is a dedicated and personalised NSW Government program that provides trusted advice to help you start or grow your small business.

Once registered small business owners are entitled to FREE confidential business advice, guidance and information as well as access to webinars and resources covering all aspects of running a business.

This program is available in the following areas: North Coast, Mid North Coast, New England region (NSW Small Business only).

How does Business Connect work?

Business Connect is a dedicated and personalised NSW Government program. It provides advice, events and resources to help you start, run, adapt or grow your small business.

One-to-one business advisory sessions are complemented with a range of events and resources providing practical insights and business skills development.

Customers may typically access up to 8 hours of FREE support per year (this includes events such as Webinars), capped to a total of 36 hours over the life of the program (ie to 30 June 2025).  All types of support from any Service Provider that are recorded in the Business Connect Reporting System are included in the 36-hour total (i.e., advice and events).

Based on qualifications and experience running their own business, NORTEC Business Connect Advisors provide independent, confidential advice, guidance and information to support to small business operators in NSW to:

  • assist individuals thinking about a new business idea or ready to start a new business
  • support new and existing businesses to enhance their survival and long-term viability
  • assist established small businesses to increase profitability
  • support business expansion and long-term business growth
  • enhance sustainability and orderly succession of business ownership
  • mentor and/or coach small business owners/operators
  • embrace innovation so as to be more competitive and better equipped to deal with difficulties or change
  • support small businesses to wind-down or exit operations.

Business advice includes guiding customers to work through immediate issues, as well as help them develop a clear vision of their business and the necessary planning to achieve their goals.
