This qualification reflects the varied roles of individuals across different industry sectors who apply a broad range of competencies using some discretion, judgment and relevant theoretical knowledge. They may provide technical advice and support to a team.
The Certificate III in Business course introduces you to customer service, business technology, word processing and spreadsheets, organising work priorities and safe work practices. The course has been developed against nationally accredited competency standards and is suited to participants who are working in the business environment or preparing to work, this course will offer the opportunity to obtain additional knowledge and skills that will form the basis of a successful career in business.
The Certificate III in Business comprises of 12 units of competency:
- 1 Core unit plus
- 11 elective units
Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, though you are required to have computer and internet access as well as Microsoft Office software to complete the qualification. You may be required to undertake vocational placement as part of your course, your trainer/assessor will advise you of any placement requirement.
NORTEC recognises that studying can be a stressful time for some people, and that you may require some additional assistance or extra support to help you with your studies. NORTEC will be able to assist you in a variety of ways. You will receive regular feedback from your trainer/assessor regarding each assessment and ongoing access to email and phone support to assist you with any difficulties and provide additional tutorial support.
Delivery & Assessment
This qualification is delivered online over a 12–18 month period or in class over a 26 week period, 2 days per week. Assessment items for this course may include a combination of project work, case studies, written assignments, role plays, practical demonstrations and observation of performance in the workplace or simulated work environment.
